coaster picture frames- flying colors

I found these in the clearance section at Michaels. And from the famous words of my husband, "Well, who on earth would want to put their coffee mug right on their grandkids' face?!"
Frames- $2.00 (a pack of four)
Ribbon-$.99

I opened the backs and put a few of my personal photos in the backs. Photos I printed off myself at home.
Photos- $0

I cut the ribbon to the desired length and closed it tightly with the latch. I thought about gluing the ribbon in place but if my heart ever desired putting my coffee mug on my grandchildren's mugs I was hoping not to ruin the frames. And the ribbon was locked in place rather snugly so it worked great.

I've had this black shelf for a few years now. (I got it for $9.00! Because I asked if they were willing to take less. The guy told me he'd give me a pair of them for all the cash on me. $18.00 exactly.) It's always been an awkward piece. I never can find anything to hang on the hooks. And without using the hooks the shelf looks uneven with decor on the top but not the bottom.

I feel like these mini frames worked perfect!
Now for something on the shelf!

The Idea

After completely striking out while trying to make cream puffs for the first time. I thought maybe blogging about my horrific Uh! Oh!'s would help put a better perspective on good ol' Abe's perseverance.
